I've gone during low tide, less than a 1'. I'd recommend picking a time, though it's difficult during the summer, with at least a foot. It's difficult to get beyond the rocks and I generally dislike walking over rocks for fear of squishing something.
Awesome place to go and relax... They have shallow reefs for snorkeling and they have some awesome deep caves if you're into cave diving. Great place to snorkel without the charge and the hustle of Hanauma Bay. Don't forget any of your snorkeling equipment, as the store across the street charges high prices for supply and demand.
This was a great place to snorkel. Lots of people but easy to find a quiet place to make your own. Lots of fish, turtles and eels. Swim to the edge and it drops off into seemingly nothing. You get the shivers thinking sharks could appear at any moment and I'm sure it must happen.
Beautiful snorkel spot during the summer. One of the best on the island. It can get a little crowded at time, but well worth it.
The water is teeming with life; shrimpy are plentiful and there's occasional large (6-8") crabs to be seen. It's totally different than daytime and it's worth it to check it out, especially if it's an introduction to night snorkeling or diving.
Fun!! Id recommend water shoes because the rocks are super sharp! I nicked my knee and it went deep! LOL but I’m fine. Shallow water. LOTS of fish and careful for sea urchins with in rocks. I went into November and it was good! The waves would crash into the rocks and sent a fast current but mostly all areas you can just stand up in! There are spots you can swim down which is pretty cool too you can tell the fish are accustom to people they get very close to you! Showers and bathrooms also! Plus a bunch of food trucks right across the street plus places you can rent snorkeling equipment. (TIP: If you wash you mask with baby wash it help from it getting foggy! Just rise off the stuff with water bottle or at shower station just not in the water!)
When did Hanauma Bay night snorkeling close?! This has become my go to spot, it's protected (night diving in open water is a little spooky) and there's hardly anyone there.
